Your first trimester is the most important time to eat a clean and healthy diet for the health of your baby. So much is happening in these weeks!
During your first trimester, some of the Vitamins that you want to pay extra attention to are Vitamin A, and Folate/Folic Acid.
- Vitamin A helps with the healthy development of your babies organs, skin, gastrointestinal tract, and lungs.
- Folate and Folic Acid help to prevent Birth Defects and Neural Tube Defects.

Breakfast:
* 2 Eggs and 1 Egg White
* ¼ Avocado
* ½ Tomato (optional)
* 8 oz Orange Juice
* 1 slice of Multigrain Bread
Snack:
* ½ cup of Nancy’s low-fat yogurt
* ½ Mango
* Sprinkled with Granola
Lunch:
* ½ Chicken Breast
* 1 cup cooked brown rice
* Grilled veggies (Red pepper, zucchini, asparagus)
Snack:
* Hummus on Pita Bread
* ½ English Cucumber with Apple Cider Vinegar
Dinner:
* Lamb
* Lentils
* Spinach salad (Spinach, Tomatoes, Onions, Olive Oil, Balsamic Vinegar)
Snack:
* Handful of Almonds
* Glass of Orange juice or Water
Remember to stay hydrated by drinking at least 8 glasses of water. This will also help distribute the nutrients to your growing baby and keep you from getting constipated.
As you can see these are small meals that will keep you blood sugar balanced, your weight maintained, and your baby getting optimal nutrition.
