In short, the answer is no. There is no BPA in Silicone (not to be confused with Silicon). Silicone is a man made rubberlike material that, so far, has proven to be non-toxic and safe to use in everything from baby bottles and nipples, pacifiers and toys, to cookware and even sealers.
It is a safer alternative to latex and is highly durable. Read more
Toy Safety: How to Avoid Toxic Toys
December 30, 2008
ARE YOU CONCERNED ABOUT TOY SAFETY FOR YOUR CHILD? Read more here…
We all remember the toy scare of 2007. Finding out that there were dangerous chemicals such as:
* LEAD
* CADMIUM
* CHLORINE
* ARSENIC
* BROMINE
* MERCURY
(to name a few)
present in the innocent playthings we voluntarily give to our children was both outrageous and frightening.
But what has changed since then and how can we protect our children from toxic toys?
The first thing we can do as parents is educate ourselves on how to choose safe and healthy toys.

BPA FREE TOYS AND TEETHERS
May 14, 2008
LOOKING FOR TOYS AND TEETHERS FREE OF BPA AND OTHER CHEMICALS? Read More Here…
Before age 1, babies don’t really play with toys as much as they explore by putting everything in their mouth. Most toys are age appropriate for 6 months +, which is about the time they begin teething. So it is especially important to look for toys that are FREE of Phthalates, BPA’s , PVC and unsafe levels of metals such as lead, mercury, arsenic etc.. Be aware that MOST gel Teethers are traditionally made of PVC, and are thus very toxic. Here are some of my favorites:

WHAT DO I NEED FOR LAYETTE?
May 14, 2008
BE PREPARED TO BRING YOUR LITTLE ONE HOME WITH THIS COMPREHENSIVE LAYETTE LIST:
When it came to baby clothing, I had no idea what I was doing and bought all kinds of cute outfits for my little one. However for the first 3 months she really wore 2 things…sleepers, and onsies (bodysuits) with pull on pants.
I could not believe the recommended quantities, but these are really a minimum when you take into consideration the food and the diapers that babies go through in the newborn stage.
Below you will see various products from our online store. I tried to include both Organic Cotton and Conventional Cotton clothing to choose from.
To shop the complete selection just take a look at the online store or the links below.

Best Car Seats and Accessories
May 14, 2008
Graco SnugRide or Graco SafeSeat Infant Car Seat:
Seeing as my motto is “Safety First” this was obviously a huge decision for me. Hands down the Graco SnugRide** and the Graco SafeSeat are the best value and the safest ride in town.
As I’ve mentioned,, my daughter did not like to be put down except in the swing and the car seat. I will literally cry when she outgrows this car seat because she is so comfortable, she loves it and I love the convenience of popping her in and out of the car awake or asleep uninterrupted. I got the SungRide because of all the user reviews and I thought the SafeSeat would be too big. Looking back I wish I had gotten the SafeSeat only because it’s essentially bigger version of the SnugRide and it would have bought me a little bit more time before having to move to a conversion seat. That being said the one thing to consider, especially if it is summer or you live somewhere hot is to get a car seat cover. The vinyl can get really warm and uncomfortable. The good news is, is if it’s winter or very cold where you live your babe will be nice and snug in their car seat so you do not have to worry about over bundling them.
Britax Decathlon, Britax Marathon or Britax Roundabout Conversion Car Seat:
After doing the research the Britax Marathon, Britax Decathlon and the Britax Roundabout are the best options out there.
The Marathon and the Decathlon can potentially be used rear facing from 5-35 lbs (1 year +) and forward facing 20-65lbs up to 49” in height so it will meet the needs of your child until they are in a booster seat. The only real difference is that the Decathlon has removable head and positioning pillows which is nice if you do decide to use it with a younger baby.
The Roundabout is a bit more compact and seats rear facing children from 5-35 lbs (1 year +) or forward from 20-40 pounds.
All Britax Car Seats are top in class for safety.
You can also purchase travel accessories so that you can wheel and transport your child in these car seats as well.
